Nature
What better place to explore our sensitive environment and its living creatures than the Aquehonga Nature Lodge? Discover the secrets of the various plants and animals found right in TMR. The merit badges offered are geared for both the younger camper as well as the more experienced out doorsman. The fine collection of living exhibits and the showcases let you examine ecology up close. Everyone should plan to visit the Nature Lodge during their camp stay.

Nature Merit Badge - 11:00-11:45 a.m. or 2:00-2:45 p.m.
Forestry Merit Badge - 3:00-3:45 p.m.
Mammal Study Merit Badge - 9:00-9:45 a.m. or 10:00-10:45 a.m.
Reptile & Amphibian Study Merit Badge - 9:00-9:45 a.m.
Soil & Water Conservation Merit Badge - 2:00-2:45 p.m.
Environmental Science Merit Badge - 10:00-10:45 a.m. and 4:00-4:45 p.m.
Fish & Wildlife Management Merit Badge - 11:00-11:45 a.m.
Astronomy Merit Badge - 3:00-3:45 p.m.

Special Programs
Nature Biking Overnighter

Older Scouts looking for something new and exciting to do in the evening? How about taking an overnight biking trip to a remote part of the camp? You’ll pack everything you need in your backpack and cycle saddle bags. While there, members of our nature and biking staffs will spend the night with your group enjoying the calm, pleasant atmosphere and learning more about our beautiful reservation. Trips will leave around 5:00 p.m. and return the following morning before reveille. See the Program Director to sign up.

 
Nature Canoe Trip

With the cooperation of the Nature and Aquatics Directors, take your unit on an up close encounter with aquatic plant and animal life. Saddle up your canoeists and cruise around the perimeter of Half Moon Lake with your own personal nature instructor as your guide. Don’t worry, learners and beginners can come along also in a rowboat with an adult swimmer rower. See the Nature Director to sign up.
