Check-In Procedures
Families are welcome to check-in after 12:00 noon on Sunday. Upon arrival at Family Camp each family is expected to check in at the Camp Director's office which is located in Stumpp Cabin. The Stumpp Cabin is the first building you encounter when entering the Family Camp parking lot. Here the director and his staff will greet you and quickly and courteously get you settled into your cabin.

At check-in all rental fees must be paid in full. If possible try to have all rental fees paid advance of your arrival. This will expedite your family getting settled.

The following items should be brought to check-in:

  • Greater New York Councils Counter Receipt showing all fees you have paid to date.
  • Greater New York Councils, BSA Health History & Examination Form completed and signed by a licensed physician for each member of your family and any guest.
  • Cash or check to pay any rental balance.

Check-in is a good time to make a deposit on a cabin for the following year.

Check-Out
Families are expected to check out before 12:00 noon on Sunday.

Telephones
The main number for Ten Mile River Scout Camps is 845-252-2000. Family Camp's direct number is 845-252-2050 and the Family Camp waterfront is at 845-252-2051. The pay phone (located outside Stumpp Cabin) is 845-252-9941. There are other pay phones located in the other camps on the reservation and at the Headquarters. If you have a son staying in one of the other camps, a staff person can call that camp from the Camp Office phone.

Mail and Phone Messages
Right outside the Camp Director's office is a bulletin board where the Family Camp staff puts messages for Family Campers. If the message is of an emergency nature, we will go to your cabin and relay the message in person. Also at the bulletin board is an out going mail pouch. Mail is picked up daily, except Sunday, and is delivered to the Camp Director's office daily, except Sunday. Often the Family Camp Trading Post has stamps for sale as well as stationery and postcards.

Camp Rules
At Family Camp, we follow the same rules as the rest of Ten Mile River, as detailed in the TMR Leaders' Guide. A few rules apply specifically to Family Camp, as follows:

Supervision: The Family Camp Staff are not babysitters. If your child is involved in a Family Camp activity, you or a designated adult should be with him/her at all times.

First Aid: A first aid box is located in Stumpp Cabin and the camp staff can treat very minor inju-ries. A smaller first aid box is kept at the Family Camp waterfront. All injuries, regardless of how insignificant they may seem to you, should be reported to the Family Camp staff.

Cabin Occupants: Each cabin can sleep 4 people in bunk beds and due to fire codes, no more than 5 occupants are allowed per cabin.
