COPE and Climbing
COPE
| Camp
Keowa is now
boasting a brand new C.O.P.E. Course with both high and low elements.
C.O.P.E. stands for Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience and is a
program that helps scouts achieve the following goals; Teamwork,
Communication, Problem Solving, Decision Making, Self Esteem, Trust,
and Leadership. We are installing a total of 13 Low COPE elements and
14 High COPE elements, including a 350-foot
“Slide-For-Life” Zipline!
This gives us the fantastic opportunity to offer your
troop a private program session to take advantage of our elements.
Low-COPE (1.5 hours) is perfect for strengthening your patrols, and
high COPE (3 hours) will keep your older scouts coming back year after
year.
Additionally, we will run a Progressive COPE program
for scouts 13 years and older, where they will join other scouts their
age in a daily, week-long challenging COPE experience! Scouts who are
13 may enjoy Progressive COPE Mon-Fri at 3:30.
Scoutmasters may schedule their troop for a High or Low
COPE slot with the Program Director upon arrival on Sunday. Scouts must
be 13 years old to participate in high-course elements, and Scout Age
for low-course elements. Long pants must be worn.

Climbing
The Thomas I. Bardong/Alliance Climbing and Rappelling Tower
continues to amaze new and old campers. Standing 35 feet high on the
banks of Crystal Lake, this tower is a site to behold. The tower allows
Scouts to take Climbing Merit Badge as well as the opportunity for
scouts to climb three diffrent faces of the tower and to rappel back
down a fourth side. Our experienced and certified staff will work
closely with your boys to teach them the sport and develop a passion
for climbing.
For any interested adults we also offer the Climb On! safety award.
Troop Climbs by request through the Program Director - schedule Sunday upon arrival.
