Administrative Information
Registration
All Scouts going to camp with their own troop must register for camp and
make all payments to their own troop, not through the council office.
The troop will make the necessary payments and register the Scouts. Provisional
Scouts can register directly through the Hudson Valley Council Office.
Please click the link above for more information about registration, fees and discounts.
Arrival Time
Camp opens at 1:00p.m. on Sunday for each week. Please do not arrive earlier. We will not
be able to assist anyone until 1:00p.m. This ensures that the staff will have enough time
to get camp prepared for your stay.
Check In
Troops will meet their site guides upon arrival in the parking lot. After gathering all
necessary gear, troops will proceed to their campsites where their gear will be dropped off.
At this time, Scouts should change into their bathing suits and be ready to report to the
Dining Hall for check in. The Scoutmaster should have all medical and fees collected. Once in
the Dining Hall, each Scout will be checked in and a buddy tag will be provided. Scoutmasters
should come to the office at this time.
Once check in is complete, troops will proceed to the waterfront for swim tests and then finally
back to their campsite to prepare for dinner assembly at 5:50p.m.

Troop Photos
Troop photographs will be taken on Monday evening at 5:00p.m. The cost
is $8.00 per picture, and the pictures will be delivered before troops
leave on Friday.
Weekends
Camp is shut down from Saturday morning at 10:00a.m. to Sunday, 1:00p.m. We are not
able to provide any services during that time period. Troops planning for a two week stay
are welcome; however they will need to be self-supporting or plan a trip out of camp.
Provisional Scouts must make arrangements to go home on all weekends.
Campsite Cooking
Camp Ranachqua offers an optional site cooking plan instead of the tradition
Dining Hall meals that are served each day. If you would prefer this option,
our kitchen would be happy to accommodate you with the necessary food
supplies. Please remember that you will need to provide your own cooking
gear and paper goods.
Nianque News
Each day a copy of the Nianque News will be made available during meal
times. Be sure to read this for yourself and to share it with the Scouts
at your table. Inside you will find important reminders, program times,
and fun facts.
Check Out
Check out can begin following the campfire on Friday night though troops are welcome to stay
until Saturday morning (a light breakfast is served). Before leaving, the Scoutmaster should
pick up medical forms, advancement records, blue cards and medicine from the camp office. Also,
site guides will visit each campsite to check in any materials that were borrowed and to give
a final inspection of the site before departure.
