First Class Adventure
- The First Class Adventure Area is designed with new Scouts in mind. Generally, first
and second year Scouts attend some FCA classes during the course of the week to work on
requirements for Tenderfoot, Second Class, or First Class ranks.
- Each Scout who participates and completes a section of the program will have an
advancement card signed off. It is up to each Unit Leader to decide whether or not
that alone satisfies the requirement for advancement, and thus warrants your signature in
the Scout Handbook. You may choose to do additional testing to confirm the skills taught.
We leave this to the discretion of each Leader.
- To continue with tradition, there will be a FCA Campfire on Monday after Vespers. This
event is separate from out regular campfires and is designed specifically with the First
Year Campers in mind.
- The FCA Schedule is in the Leader's Guide.
We strongly urge you to look over this schedule and begin designing
your Scout's schedule according to it and the Merit
Badge Schedule (also available in the Leader's Guide). You will notice that most skills taught in FCA are
taught more than once. This does not mean that the Scout needs to attend
both sessions - it simply means that there is more than one class section
available.
