Some leaders are born with special skills.
Some say leaders are taught special skills. Either way,
when
you complete our National Youth Leadership Training Course,
you will have all the resources to be a leader.
The NYLT is a six day outdoor experience
for youth leaders. The course is designed to prepare Scouts
to become troop officers, interact with Scout Youth Leaders
from all over the city, trade ideas, and learn.

The BSA strongly believes that Scouts and
Scouters can be taught to be better leaders. When Scouts
complete the
National Youth Leadership Training Course, they will be
better able to lead their patrols and troops. The conference,
based
on
a national training outline, has three aims:
- To sharpen and broaden Scoutcraft skills so they can be
shared with members of the troop.
- To develop leadership skills that have been effective
in Scouting.
- To facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences with
other troop junior leaders.
There will not be time for scouts to work on merit badges
during the National Youth Leadership Training Course.
