Fees, Check-In/Check-Out & Availability
| |
 |
GNYC Units may make reservations up to
12 months in advance of the desired reservation date. All other units
and gorups may make reservations up to 11 months in advance. While reservations
for tent sites, leantos, picnics and day trips can usually be accommodated
with ease, cabin reservations
for the months of October through April fill up far in advance. Please
plan accordingly. |
| |
 |
Reservations may be made by calling the
Camping Reservations Hotline: 888-346-5805 Monday through Friday from
2 - 6 PM. Before calling, be sure to check out our Reservation
Tips.
Alternatively, you can complete the Reservation
Inquiry form, indicate your desired reservation information, and
be contacted by a member of the Camping Services Department. |
| |
 |
Fees are based on a weekend stay (Friday night to Sunday afternoon)
extra days are charged at 50% of the weekend fees per day. Fees listed
reflect the subsidized rate for Scouting units only. |
| |
 |
Gas usage - Propane used in cabins is
metered. A meter reading will be taken upon the unit's arrival and departure,
and the appropriate fee will will be required to be paid at check-out. |
| |
 |
Cabin Deposits – A $50.00
security deposit is due upon arrival at camp for all groups staying in
cabins. The deposit will be refunded upon departure from camp, less damages
and gas usage.
|
| |
 |
Canoeing, rafting and kayaking

are made through The Greater New York Councils Reservation Hotline; fees
are paid at Camp upon check-in. You will need to provide transportation
to your ending point; Landers will provide transportation to your starting
point. |
| |
 |
Weekend check-in takes place at the Headquarters
Trading Post, located on Crystal Lake Road (County Route 26). Units may
check-in on Friday between 6 and 10 PM, or on Saturday between 8 AM and
6 PM. Check-out is between 9 AM and 3 PM on Sunday. |
| |
 |
All Ten Mile River facilities are completely
closed to visitors during the Sullivan County Hunting Season each year.
Typically, this season spans the end of November and the beginning of
December. If you are interested in visiting TMR during this time period,
call the reservations hotline to ensure that the weekend when you would
like to come is not during hunting season. |

Leadership Policy & Youth Protection Guidelines
| |
 |
Two registered adults leaders,
or one adult leader and a parent of a participating Scout, one of whom
must be at least 21 years of age or older, are required for all trips
or outings. Co-ed overnight activities require male and female adult
leadership. It is the responsibility of the chartered organization of
any Pack, Troop, Post, Team, Crew or Ship to ensure the unit committee
and other leadership provides sufficient leadership on all trips and
outings. |
| |
 |
The "safety rule of four" requires
no fewer that four individuals (always with the minimum of two adults)
go on overnight campout. If an accident occurs, one person stays with
the injured, and two go for help. |
| |
 |
Male and female leaders require separate
sleeping facilities. Married couples may share the same quarters if appropriate
facilities are available.
|
| |
 |
Male and female youth participants will
not share the same facility. |
| |
 |
When staying in tents, no youth will
stay in the tent of an adult other than his or her parent or guardian. |
Camp Policies
| |
 |
The capacity listed for
each facility is the maximum capacity. Units exceeding the capacity
of a cabin may utilize tents for additional campers and will be charged
$1 per person ($2 per person for Out of Council Units) for each additional
person over the capacity of the cabin. |
| |
 |
All units must check-in with the camp
ranger and have a campsite reservation. Report any damages found at check-in
immediately. |
| |
 |
Use only those areas assigned to your
unit.
|
| |
 |
A unit
roster must be submitted at
check-in with signature of the "on site" key leader. |
| |
 |
Any check written for payments of
fees, damage, supplies, etc. must show the name, address and phone number
of the person writing check. This includes unit checks. |
| |
 |
Units need to supply their own water
containers, garbage bags, etc. |
| |
 |
Garbage must be taken to assigned
areas. |
| |
 |
Units should leave a courtesy supply
of firewood (enough for one full night) upon checking out. |
| |
 |
All units must check out with a Camp
Ranger or their designee. Additional fees for damage, propane, etc. will
be collected at this time. A Scout is clean, and the general rule is
always to leave camp a little better than when you arrived. All loaned
equipment must be returned in good, clean working condition. |
| |
 |
No cars or motorized vehicles are permitted
past the designated parking areas. Do not park in campsites or block
any roads or accesses. The only vehicles permitted throughout camp are
emergency or service vehicles. |

are outlined earlier in this document in the section entitled "Leadership

each Scout in his/her possession while at camp. |

other motorized vehicles; Alcoholic beverages, drugs or controlled substances. |
| |
 |
The use of all liquid fuels is prohibited.
Propane appliances are permitted and must be used with caution under
adult supervision. Campfires must be built in established campfire rings
only. Keep fires small, never leave them unattended and be sure they
are "cold out" when finished. |
| |
 |
Do not wash dishes or utensils in any
latrine, water spigot or comfort station. These areas are for hand and
face washing only. |
| |
 |
Do not cut or injure any standing
tree or shrub, whether it is dead or alive. Do not ditch tents or dig
holes for any purpose. Do not kill or abuse any wildlife. |
| |
 |
Use permanent latrines or comfort stations
only. |
| |
 |
Units are not allowed to use waterfront
or pool facilities without express permission of the Ranger. The use
of these facilities includes, but is not limited to boating, swimming
and ice skating. Fishing is
only permitted with the permission of the Camp Ranger, and only in assigned
areas. State Fishing Regulations must be followed. |
