TMR has partnered with Onteora Scout Reservation to be able to offer ATVs this summer. Onteora is about 40 minutes from Ten Mile River.
Troops will be able to sign up 6 participants per session. Each session is one 3 hour time block. They will learn ATV safety and then take exhilarating back-country trail rides.
Choose one 3-hour time block. Offered Mon-Fri 2:00-5pm. For more info and to sign up your troop for bookables, please visit tenmileriver.org/bookables.
Requirements:
- Complete the online ATV Safety Course and print the certificate.
- Print out the Onteora ATV Waiver to bring with you.
- Ages 14+ by the day of participation
- Long pants
- Boots/shoes that completely cover the ankle
FAQs
How do I sign up?
ATVs are a bookable program, so Scouts do not sign up individually. Unit leaders can select up to 3 bookable programs before camp starts, and more at camp depending on availability.
Sessions are 3 hour blocks, from 2-5 each weekday.

How many Scouts can participate?
Up to 6 Scouts per troop can participate at once.
Can adults participate?
Yes. When a unit leader signs up for an ATV bookable, they get up to 6 participant slots. They can decide how many youth or adults will participate. The cost is the same for youth or adults.
What kind of ATVs are used?
Scouts BSA has partnered with Polaris for the ATV experience. Scouts will be riding a Polaris Phoenix 200cc
